Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has criticised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Central Bank of Nigeria for recent developments in the country.
In an interview with Arise TV, Obi remarked that instead of focusing on the elites’ corruption and economic sabotage in the country, the EFCC is arresting Bobrisky for spraying a small amount of money. He further stated that given the current circumstances in Nigeria, if Nigerians are told that only women will be fed, all men will dress as women. Obi also chastised the Central Bank of Nigeria for allowing the Heritage Bank situation to deteriorate to the point that funds placed by low-income individuals are now stranded at this critical moment.
Peter Obi further claimed that some elites were permitted to collect their money before the CBN revoked the bank’s license. He also asserted that the Heritage Bank issue was created by the country’s elites.
