We lacked desire and vigor against Burnley—Pochettino criticizes Chelsea players

Following Saturday’s 2-2 Premier League tie between Chelsea and Burnley, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has taken aim at his players.

Chelsea’s players, according to Pochettino, lacked vigor and ability against the visitors at Stamford Bridge.

Both clubs were guaranteed a point apiece thanks to goals from Dara O’Shea, Lorenz Assignon, and Cole Palmer.

Following the game, Pochettino made the following remarks in his post-match interview:

“Today we didn’t show the capacity, the energy, the hunger that is the minimum to compete in the Premier League.

“In the defensive phase we conceded too much. That is why I am so upset and disappointed.”

He added, “We need to increase our percentage of goals.”
