UEFA will increase security at Euro 2024 after six fans attempted to grab photographs with Cristiano Ronaldo after Portugal’s 3-0 victory over Turkey on Saturday.
The football governing body will also bring criminal charges against any fans who invade the pitch.
German referee Felix Zwayer was forced to delay the game four times when crowds stormed onto the pitch and charged at Ronaldo.
Two other admirers then tried to approach the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
UEFA has decided to boost security at all stadiums in an effort to prevent further incidences of supporters running onto the pitch.
