Tinubu sets a new minimum pay of N70,000

A new minimum salary of N70,000 has been authorised by President Bola Tinubu for Nigerian workers, with a three-year review of the national minimum wage law to follow.

The Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, made this declaration on Thursday, July 18, in the Presidential Villa. During a continuing meeting with organised trade union officials, the decision was disclosed.

Comrade Festus Usifo, President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), and Comrade Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), are among the prominent attendees at the gathering, along with a number of union members.
