The Senate has been tasked with confirming the names of the inaugural NWDC Governing Board, thanks to a proposal from President Bola Tinubu.
This action comes after Tinubu signed the North West Development Commission Bill into law on July 24, which was a significant turning point in the Commission’s formation.
Prof. Abdullahi Ma’aji was nominated as MD/CEO, and Amb. Haruna Gindau as Chairman of the Governing Board, representing Jigawa. Hon. Shamsu Sule, Nasidi Ali, Hon. Engineer Muhammad Ali Wudil, and Hon. Abdulkadir S. Usman are the other members.
The board members are expected to support the Commission’s development of the North-West region by lending their experience and knowledge.
