After the pilot, İlçehin Pehlivan, passed away in midair, Turkish Airlines aircraft TK204 made an emergency landing at JFK International Airport in New York, USA.
The jet was scheduled to land in Istanbul after taking off from Seattle, USA. Nevertheless, the pilot passed away during the flight after efforts to revive him failed.
Turkish Airlines identified the pilot as İlçehin Pehlivan, a 59-year-old employee who joined the company in 2007.
On August 3, Pehlivan had his recurring physical examined, and the General Directorate of Civil Aviation declared him healthy.
From JFK International, the passengers on the rerouted flight TK204 will be transported to Istanbul. Turkish Airlines sends its condolences to the captain’s family, loved ones, and coworkers, and asks for God’s mercy.
