Although Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong anticipates a challenging matchup with Rwanda, he is confident his squad will prevail.
On Tuesday, the three-time African will face the Amavubi at Kigali’s Amahoro Stadium.
Troost-Ekong, who arrived in Rwanda for the first time, is excited about the country’s strong team and their current top spot in the World Cup qualifiers. He believes the team is ready and highly motivated, and hopes the fans will see a good match tomorrow.
He added, “We came here with an objective, which is to win the game.”
“We are very happy to have coach Augustine Eguavoen back with us, also at this important time.
“We are one big family, we are missing a few guys, who are regulars on the team. It’s a full house, we are ready for whatever Rwanda will throw at us.”
Troost-Ekong, a defender, expressed his motivation to win the upcoming game against Rwanda, stating that the match will be tough, as it will be a game away from home and in front of their fans. He compared the game against Benin Republic to a “big challenge” and emphasized the importance of winning every game.
