Super Eagles’ focus is now on the 2026 World Cup, according to Omueruo

Kenneth Omeruo claims that after their friendlies against Ghana and Mali, the Super Eagles are now focusing on the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

In June, the Super Eagles will play two crucial matches against the Squirrels of the Benin Republic and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in an attempt to secure a spot in the mundial.

Omeruo believed it was critical for the Super Eagles to make it to the World Cup following their last elimination in Qatar in 2022.

“June is only a few weeks away. We are focused on the matches against South Africa and Benin Republic,” Omeruo was quoted by thenff.com.

“Many players in the group have not played at the World Cup before and they see this as the big opportunity to be there. We cannot afford to let ourselves and the nation down.”
