Nigerian defender Semi Ajayi has been sidelined for four months after suffering a hamstring injury in a game against West Bromwich Albion.
Ajayi will be out for a long time and will have surgery in the next few days, according to manager Carlos Corberán.
The accident caused the damage, which included two broken muscles. The best course of action for managing the damage is surgery because it lowers the chance of recurrence.
It is anticipated that the surgery will be completed in roughly 16 weeks. Nigeria’s November 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Rwanda and the Benin Republic will not feature Ajayi.
