Every year on November 8th, the event honors scientific, technological, engineering, artistic, and mathematical achievements with the goal of igniting interest in STEM fields and inspiring the next generation of innovators. Through the Lagos State University (LASU), and the LASU-Africa Centre of Excellence for Innovative and Transformative STEM Education (ACEITSE), the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Basic and Secondary Education is facilitating the event. Training 100 students in solar energy, robotics technology, artificial intelligence, and visual processing will be the main focus.
By incorporating the arts into conventional STEM curricula, the event will encourage critical thinking and creativity in students of all ages. Hon. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, the Lagos State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, will declare the event open at LASU’s Africa Centre of Excellence for Innovative and Transformative STEM Education (ACEITSE) laboratory at precisely nine in the morning. In addition to taking part in thrilling challenges and learning new methods to use their knowledge in practical situations, attendees will get the chance to interact directly with STEAM professionals.
