Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has explained why the club decided to return Cesare Casadei from loan.
The teenager is on loan to Leicester City for the 2023-24 season to further his development.
But he has been obliged to return to Stamford Bridge, and Pochettino stated that this is owing to injuries to the most of his trusty midfielders.
The Argentine talked at a press conference on Friday regarding returning Casadei from his loan with Leicester City.
“It was a tough decision because we didn’t want to cut his development short,” he said.
“But, with the injuries of Lavia and Lesley, we needed another midfielder. The squad is only Enzo, Moi, and Conor. We decided together with Cesare.”
