Pinnick and Davido received an out-of-court settlement for their breached contract

A Delta High Court in Effurun, Delta State, has granted an out-of-court settlement to Brownhill Investment Company, owned by Mr. Amaju Pinnick, the former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and Mr. David Adeleke, also referred to as Davido, in their ongoing legal dispute over an allegedly unsuccessful contract.

Remember that in 2023, Mr. Amaju Pinnick sued Davido for allegedly breaking their agreement to play at the 19th “Warri Again Concert.” He requested that the defendants be awarded N2 billion in general damages for their breach of the concert contract.

In addition, he requested N150 million in legal and professional expenses from the court, plus a further N30 million for filing costs.

Justice Michael Obi, the presiding judge, complimented both parties in court on Thursday, March 22, for their cooperative decision to settle out of court. The judge declared  “I commend both parties for exploring an amicable resolution to settle out of court.”

Davido’s lawyer, Mr Oladayo Ogungbe said; “Davido is coming again to Warri on Oct. 4 to perform – that forms part of the settlement. It’s fine. It is better than going through the rigours of litigations.

“Both parties consider the option of having the matter settled out of court, which in my opinion as a lawyer, is the best approach to any litigation. It is a win-win situation for both parties.”
