Rafiu Ladipo, the President General of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC), has stated that Jose Peseiro, the Super Eagles coach, exceeded all expectations even though he was not given the opportunity.
Additionally, he recommended that the Nigeria Football Federation, or NFF, select a coach for the Super Eagles who is superior to Peseiro rather than someone who falls short of his expectations.
In a parting statement posted on his official X Twitter on Friday, Peseiro—who guided Nigeria to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations championship in Ivory Coast—thanked the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and other Nigerian football stakeholders for granting him the chance to lead the Super Eagles.
”Now, we need to start looking for another coach better than [Jose] Peseiro and not anyone that’s not up to his standard.
”Whether we like it or not, he took us to the finals of the 2023 AFCON.
”Peseiro wasn’t given a chance at all, but he performed beyond the expectations and the target of semi-final berth, up to the final against the host nation, Ivory Coast,” Ladipo told NAN.
