Paul Merson, the legendary player for Arsenal, has blasted Manchester United after their 2-1 Premier League loss to Fulham on Saturday.
Calvin Bassey gave Fulham the lead, but Harry Maguire’s strike just before stoppage time appeared to have given Man United a point back.
But Alex Iwobi gave the visitors a lead again in injury time, sealing the Red Devils’ fate at Old Trafford.
After the match, Merson noted that Erik ten Hag’s team was quite surprising.
Speaking with Sky Sport Merson said “Man United were shocking, I’m not exaggerating. Absolutely shockin.”
“You know, how they can think they can get in the top four. And what is the point of getting the top four anyway? Just to get into the Champions League.
“They are not going to win it. So what’s the point in being in it?”
