Ondo Election: INEC has disclosed that a total of 295,603 PVC’s are yet to be collected

In addition to 17,705 ad hoc workers and 11,799 security personnel being hired for the impending election on November 16, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State has disclosed that 295,603 permanent voter cards have not yet been collected. The commission is ready to guarantee a free, fair, and credible gubernatorial election, according to Oluwatoyin Babalola, the resident electoral commissioner.


In order to administer the oath of neutrality before to the election, the commission is hiring 11,799 security personnel and 17,705 ad hoc staff at all levels. On October 17, 2024, a new cycle of PVC distribution will begin. In order to fulfil their civic obligations, the REC encouraged citizens to pick up their PVCs at specific locations throughout the state.

On May 27, 2024, the commission carried out a Continuous Voters Registration activity, which led to a notable rise in the number of registered voters in the state. 3,132 voters moved their registrations into and within Ondo State, and 58,708 new voters had registered by the end of the process.

Ondo State residents were urged by the REC to peacefully exercise their right to vote on election day and support the expansion of democracy in the state and throughout Nigeria. It is important for them to know that their votes matter.
