Blessing Oborududu of Nigeria has advanced to the 2024 Olympic Games women’s 68kg wrestling semifinals.
In their quarterfinal match, Oborududu defeated her French opponent, Koumba Larroque, 6-2.
The African champion had earlier won the quarterfinal match against Linda Morais of Canada.
The strong wrestler gave up two points early in the fight, but she caught fire in the second half, scoring six straight points to win the bout 8–2 on points.
Oborodudu is scheduled to hit the stage once again this evening at 8:00 p.m. Nigerian time.
