Nnamdi Kanu – “If released, I will put an end to insecurity in the South East in two minutes”

If he is freed from prison, Nnamdi Kanu, the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, has promised to put a stop to the violence in the Southeast in two minutes.

Regarding the security situation in the area, Kanu said that no one in the South East could defy his directives.

The highly enraged Biafra activist addressed reporters on Tuesday in the Abuja Federal High Court courtroom.

Nnamdi Kanu said, “I suspect that some people in government are making money out of insecurity in the South East; they know that once Nnamdi Kanu is outside, in two minutes, this nonsense will stop.

“Who’s the idiot that can alter my orders in the South East? Nobody can. I Nnamdi Kanu, let me come out of this nonsense, and in two minutes, there will be peace in the South East.”

Justice Binta Nyako had already turned down Kanu’s request for release.

The judge did, however, order an expedited hearing in Kanu’s case. Kanu is accused of crimes that are somewhat related to terrorism and treason.

Since his arrest in June 2021, Kanu has been in the care of the Department of State Services, or DSS. He was hauled before the court on Tuesday.

Justice Nyako delivered the decision, declaring that the prosecution may only request an expedited hearing on the case and directing the prosecution to summon its initial witness.
