NDLEA arrests Canadian woman with drugs at Lagos airport

Canadian woman Adrienne Munju was arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for importing a large consignment of ‘Canadian Loud’, a strong strain of synthetic cannabis.

The arrest occurred during the inward clearance of passengers on a KLM airline flight from Canada at the airport’s terminal 1. During a joint examination of her bags, Munju was found with 74 parcels of the illicit substance, weighing 35.20 kilograms.

She claimed she was recruited to traffic the consignment for 10,000 Canadian dollars upon successful delivery in Lagos, as she needed the money to pay for her ongoing master’s degree program in Canada.
