Minister of Defence stated that there is no room for secession by any ethnic group

The Nigerian Federal Government has reaffirmed its stance against attempts to break up the country, stating that its unity is non-negotiable.

Minister of Defence Mohammed Abubakar Badaru reaffirmed this during a peace meeting in Plateau State, stating that secession is not an option for any region. He also expressed displeasure over ongoing violent clashes in Plateau State, particularly in Jol and Sho communities.

Badaru also expressed concerns about the disruption of the farming season due to ongoing conflicts between farmers and herders, particularly in rural communities.

He emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders.
