John Obi Mikel, a former midfielder for Chelsea, believes that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti would be the ideal person to lead the England national team.
Ancelotti, in the opinion of the former Super Eagles captain, can bring out the best in the English players.
Remember that after failing to win the Euros this year, Gareth Southgate recently announced his resignation as head coach of the Three Lions?
The English FA is trying to find a replacement for Southgate.
In reference to the manager Mikel Obi should replace Southgate, he stated on his podcast:
“I will go with someone that you didn’t mention. [He’s] somebody I think will be very good with this England, but not immediately, maybe in the next 1-2 years.
“That would be Carlo Ancelotti.”
“We are in Madrid, of course, he’s paid me to say this! I think Carlo would get this team playing well.”
