Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is reportedly close to signing a new deal, according to The Athletic.
It’s also said that negotiations to join Ten Hag’s staff include former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy and Go Ahead Eagles manager Rene Hake.
Following their selection as assistant managers, Mitchell van der Gaag may leave; the Dutchman apparently wanted to return to head coaching after managing teams in Portugal and the Netherlands in the past.
According to reports, Steve McClaren’s precise job would be reevaluated as part of a possible coaching change. Separate negotiations are also expected to discuss Darren Fletcher’s duties at the team, while Benni McCarthy’s status is still unknown.
