Bruno Fernandes, the team captain, has received praise from Louis Saha, a former Manchester United striker.
Saha believes that the former player for Sporting CP has put in too much work for the Red Devils.
Ever since coming to Old Trafford from Sporting CP a few years ago, the Portuguese has been the big guy.
In addition to wearing the captain’s armband, Fernandes, 29, routinely scored goals and created opportunities.
The offensive midfielder in the Premier League is now among the greatest of his position, according to the former France international, in an interview with Paddy Power.
He stated to Paddy Power, via DAZN, “Bruno Fernandes is one of the best-attacking midfielders in the league and the person who creates the most chances.”
He added “There might be players who can do a job, but in the Premier League, with the pressure of playing for Manchester United, it’s challenging for any player, and he’s really had to take the pressure off the team,” he added.
“He’s [Fernandes] been asked to be the captain where initially he was just a leader on the pitch. He’s done well as captain.”
“He’s underrated because he’s being asked to do more things and that’s the problem. I saw the same criticism with Casemiro as well, just because of the context.
“Last year he struggled but the season before he was a revelation and helped the squad. Last year people wanted him to do more, and that’s where he struggled.”
Among his other significant achievements and records are becoming the first player to win five UEFA Champions League titles and finishing as the top scorer in four different leagues in a season.
The only player to score in the championship game for two separate victorious teams is Ronaldo. The all-time leading scorer for Real Madrid, with 130 goals, is the most prolific goal scorer in men’s football.
