The hosts progressed with a tight 1-0 victory against DR Congo in the second semi-final on Wednesday night.
There were no goals in the first half. However, Sebastien Haller’s untidy finish in the second half was enough to send the Elephants through.
They will now compete against the Super Eagles for the championship on Sunday.
Nigeria needed penalties to defeat South Africa in their semi-final match earlier in the game.
The match finished 1-1 after 120 minutes, and Stanley Nwabali made two saves in the shootout to send the three-time African winners through.
The final on Sunday is a rematch of the competition’s Group A match, which Nigeria won 1-0 due to a penalty kick from William Troost-Ekong.
