Doyinsola Anuoluwapo, a reality show celebrity in Nigeria, better known online as Doyin said, requests for DNA testing shouldn’t cause negative feelings in people.
According to News Men, considering the recent instances of paternity fraud, opinions among Nigerians about the necessity of DNA testing are mixed.
Doyin responded on her Instagram page, stating that males have the right to ask for DNA testing due to the high incidence of paternity fraud.
She stated: “It’s not a bad thing for your partner to request for DNA test. If he wants to take care of a child that isn’t his, let it be his decision to do that intentionally not because he thinks he’s the father. The rate of paternity fraud is too high for you to think emotionally if your partner asks for a DNA test. It’s a painful request but it’s understandable.”
