Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has expressed his condolences for Sol Bamba’s passing, stating that the news is “quite tough.”
Bamba, who had a non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis in December 2020, passed away while preparing for an Adanaspor match. Van Dijk, who played against Bamba and had conversations with him, expressed his desire for Bamba to rest in peace.
He said “He’s far too young. All the strength goes to his family.
“Hopefully the Premier League will do something after the international break. He is one of the good guys and his family deserve that.”
