In order to finalise his transfer to Aris Limassol, Connor Goldson has been granted permission to return to Cyprus, according to Rangers manager Philippe Clement.

The vice captain of Rangers was initially part of the travelling team for Wednesday night’s preseason friendly against Birmingham City, but he was noticeably missing from the roster when the teams were revealed.

Clement stated that Goldson was permitted to depart the organisation following Rangers’ receipt of a “concrete offer”.

Prior to the friendly, Clement spoke with RTV and stated:“Connor was planned to start today, that was the idea, but there is a concrete offer for him so I allowed him to go and speak with this team. That’s why he left today to go back to speak with this team and we will see in the next couple of days.”
