Primate Elijah Ayodele, the spiritual leader of the INRI evangelical church, has cautioned the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) against offering former vice president Atiku Abubakar the party’s ticket for president in 2027.
Primate Ayodele threatened to end the PDP if Atiku was chosen to be the party’s presidential candidate in 2027.
Primate Ayodele stated in a video that he posted on his X handle: “PDP, if you want to fail, give Atiku your presidency. You will see that you will fail. It is going to be a cheap victory for APC.
“Atiku is not the answer for the PDP in 2027. He is not the answer. If you try Atiku, then, politically, PDP is dead. That is the end of PDP.”
Despite becoming vice president in 1999, he has never been able to hold the position of top political office in Nigeria.
After being beaten by President Bola Tinubu in a hotly contested election in 2023, Atiku finished in second place.
