Richard Hughes will take over as Liverpool’s sports director at the end of the current campaign, the team has revealed.
Hughes is leaving his position as technical director at Bournemouth to join Liverpool.
This comes after FSG, the business that owns Liverpool, appointed Michael Edwards, a former sports director at Anfield, as chief executive of football.
In preparation for Jurgen Klopp’s retirement at the conclusion of the season, following nine years as manager, Liverpool is organizing their affairs.
After a season in the position, Jorge Schmadtke is following Klopp out the door, leaving the position of sports director vacant.
