Gov Aiyedatiwa announces payment of 73k minimum wage for workers in Ondo

The governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has declared that a minimum wage of N73,000 will be implemented for workers, highlighting the administration’s dedication to the welfare of the state’s populace. Ahead of the state election on November 16, the statement was made on Saturday during the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign kickoff in Ondo City. Ondo would pay its employees N73,000 in addition to the N70,000 new minimum wage approved by the federal government.


Speaking to the sizable assembly of supporters, Governor Aiyedatiwa urged people to vote for the APC in order to maintain the continuation of development projects throughout the state. He outlined the accomplishments of his administration during the previous ten months, pointing out that he had approved over a billion naira for projects involving the construction of rural roads and land clearing, among other significant initiatives.


The governor reiterated his commitment to improving young empowerment, education, health care, and security. He mentioned the “Japa” syndrome, the tendency of doctors leaving the state for chances elsewhere, and said that his administration’s efforts have increased the number of doctors choosing to remain in the state. His administration has raised the pay and benefits for doctors in order to solve this.

The State APC Chairman, Engineer Ade Adetimehin, also spoke to the assembly and urged people to vote for the party in order for it to continue to hold power. He underlined the dedication of Governor Aiyedatiwa to the state’s infrastructure development and reminded party members of the significance of protecting their voter cards.

Governor Aiyedatiwa was hailed by Hon. Abiola Makinde, the member of the House of Representatives for the federal district of Ondo East/West, as a trustworthy and experienced leader who rose via an open primary. Governor Aiyedatiwa’s noteworthy achievements were emphasised by Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Lola Fagbemi. These included WAEC fees supporting public schooling, prompt salary payments, and road development and renovation.
