Alfie Gilchrist, a defender, left Chelsea on Wednesday to take a loan position at Sheffield United, the club confirmed.
This was revealed by the Premier League’s west London team in a statement posted on their website.
The statement reads “Chelsea defender Alfie Gilchrist has joined Sheffield United on a season-long loan.
“Good luck, Alfie.”
At eleven years old, Gilchrist signed with Chelsea.
After starting the previous season as their Under-21 captain, he earned his senior debut against Crystal Palace in December.
