Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has criticized FCT Minister Wike for prioritizing personal interests over the welfare of Nigerians

Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has come under fire from former vice president Atiku Abubakar for putting his own interests ahead of the wellbeing of Nigerians. With reference to Atiku as a “rejected politician,” Wike made these comments recently in Port Harcourt in response to Atiku’s response to the recent local government elections in Rivers State.

Wike’s assertion was rejected by Atiku, who said that if he genuinely thought that Nigerians were happy with the way things were going under his administration, it revealed a more sinister reality: his priorities were not the people’s but rather his own.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the most recent election, Atiku, went on to accuse Wike of being selfish, saying that it was clear that he was more concerned with his personal life in Rivers than with his ministerial duties. While Wike seems to take pleasure in engaging in media spectacles, Atiku emphasized that the PDP is still committed to the welfare and advancement of the people.

Wike was also chastised by Atiku for engaging in media spectacles, saying that they would rather rise above the mire and retain their dignity than go down into the gutters, where he feels most at home.
