Anthony Ujah, a former forward for the Super Eagles, is a supporter of Augustine Eguavoen taking over as the team’s new substantive head coach.
Eguavoen is currently guiding the Super Eagles on an interim basis, taking control for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
It is still the intention of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to appoint a foreign technical adviser to the squad.
Ujah thinks that as the team is going through a transitional period, Eguavoen ought to be appointed permanently.
He acknowledged that Eguavoen had done a good job as an interim manager and that the players respected him.
