Following the death of his first wife and 13-month-old daughter years ago, President Joe Biden contemplated suicide

According to President Joe Biden, he considered suicide after the death of his first wife and 13-month-old daughter in an automobile accident.

US President Joe Biden has said that after losing his wife and daughter in an automobile accident, he thought about ending his own life.
The US President talked candidly about his sorrow in a conversation with radio broadcaster Howard Stern following the deaths of his first wife Nelia and his one-year-old daughter Naomi in a vehicle accident in Delaware, US, on December 18, 1972.

Biden stated to Stern: ‘You don’t have to be crazy to commit suicide if you’ve been to the top of the mountain and you think you’ll never be there again.

‘For a brief moment I thought maybe I’ll just go to Delaware Memorial Bridge and just jump, but I had two kids.’

‘I don’t drink, that’s not a virtue. I just never drank. And, I used to sit there and think to myself, I’m just gonna take out a bottle of scotch.

‘We always had liquor in the house, and I was gonna just drink it and get drunk, and I can never bring myself to do it.’

Biden has discussed his reasons for not drinking alcohol on several occasions. He once said, “There are enough drunks” in his family history.

The disclosures came during a surprise visit on Stern’s SiriusXM show, which the White House had not disclosed prior to its airing and which was not included in the president’s public itinerary.

Additionally, Biden stated in the interview that he would be delighted to engage in a debate with Republican opponent Donald Trump, saying: ‘I am, somewhere, I don’t know when, but I am happy to debate him.’
