After Fulham’s thrilling victory over Manchester United on the road at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, Alex Iwobi is in high spirits.
In stoppage time, Iwobi scored the game-winning goal to help Marco Silva’s team upset their opponents 2-1.
The Whites’ triumph over Manchester United was their first in fifteen years.
The lead was given to Fulham by Iwobi’s international teammate, Calvin Bassey, in the 65th minute.
Harry Maguire tied the score one minute remaining as Manchester United fought back.
Deep into stoppage time, Iwobi then shocked the home crowd by scoring the game-winning goal.
Iwobi said to the club’s official website “I’m over the moon right now, to win at Old Trafford in the last minute is crazy, there’s no better feeling.”
“We feel like we performed really well, we’ve been performing well recently, and today is a step in the right direction and hopefully, we can kick on from there.”
“As soon as I cut inside, I felt like the keeper was going to be in the far corner, so I gave him the eyes and it went in.
“I haven’t seen his reaction, but everyone said he couldn’t move, so a goal is a goal, I’ll take it and move on to the next,” he added.
