With effect from November 13, FBN Holdings Plc has named Adebowale Oyedeji as its Group Managing Director (GMD). The Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) permission and the firm’s shareholders’ acceptance at the annual general meeting are prerequisites for the appointment.
Experienced professional Oyedeji will take over for Nnamdi Okonkwo, who will step down at the end of his term.
He graduated from the University of Ibadan with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and the University of London with a Master of Science in Financial Economics. He is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
From 2008 to 2011, Oyedeji, who has over thirty years of banking expertise, was the Managing Director of Guarantee Trust Bank UK.
Additionally, he worked for Stanbic IBTC Bank as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Oyedeji was Nova Commercial Bank’s managing director prior to this position, and he was instrumental in the bank’s growth into retail banking as well as its transformation into a commercial bank.
