Lagos State Commissioner Olanrewaju Ishola has ordered the release of all detained persons in connection with the #ENDSARS 4th anniversary at Lekki-Tollgate.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the release of all protesters in custody. The #EndSARS movement began on October 20, 2020, against the unprofessional activities of the police Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
The protests led to the disbandment of SARS but also resulted in violence, with some police officers killed and many government properties damaged.
Ishola personally attended the State Criminal Investigation Department to personally oversee the release.
