EndBadGovernance: DJ Switch challenges Dokubo and Wike to make a public appearance with their threats

In the midst of the ongoing statewide hunger protests, well-known Nigerian DJ and activist Obianuju Catherine, better known by his stage name DJ Switch, has challenged both former Niger Delta militant commander Asari Dokubo and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister Nyesom Wike.
According to newsmen, on Thursday, August 1, 2024, the 10-day statewide hunger protests known as “End Bad Government”—which draw attention to Nigeria’s economic problems—began.

Asari Dokubo had forewarned the organisers not to bring the protest to his area prior to the demonstration, arguing that their objective ignores the problems in the area.

Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has also threatened to cancel the protests in Abuja.

Additionally, on Thursday, the first day of the protests, Wike stated in a meeting with the security council in Abuja that there is intelligence indicating the demonstrators plan to damage property.

However, DJ Switch, a well-known Nigerian performer, responded to Wike and Dokubo’s comments over the weekend by challenging both men to face the demonstrators in public if they weren’t afraid.

In a social media post, the DJ, who was one of the organisers of the 2020 EndSARS protests, stated that food, not threats or violence, is the only way to end hunger among people.

She twitted; “The only thing that can stop HUNGER is FOOD! Not guns, teargas, or threats from fat globs like Asari Dokubo and chicken feed Wike! I wonder why they are hiding now. Come outside let them eat you raw.”
