The late Nollywood actor John Paul Odonwodo’s family has made public the details of his funeral and interment.
On April 10, while returning from a movie shoot, Junior Pope’s boat capsized in the Anam River in Anambra State, resulting in the deaths of four actors.
Just seven of the twelve people who boarded the unfortunate boat—including Junior Pope—were recovered alive.
A second requiem mass is set for May 13 at Christ the King Catholic Parish, G.R.A., Enugu, in addition to the April 23 requiem mass at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish in Asaba, Delta State, according to the details of the late actor’s funeral arrangements, signed by Divine Odonwodo on behalf of the family.
An evening of candlelight tributes is scheduled on May 14 at the Amadeo Event Centre in Enugu, starting at 5 p.m. At his rural residence in Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, a hamlet in the state’s Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, a wake is scheduled on May 16.
On Friday, May 17, Pope will be laid to rest in his rural residence following a funeral service held at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Ukehe. The actor’s funeral will be promptly followed by burial.
On May 20, a mass of gratitude will be held at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Ukehe to conclude the funeral arrangements.
