Coutinho’s contract was terminated by Aston Villa

Aston Villa have terminated Philippe Coutinho’s contract.

Coutinho’s loan time with Al Duhail in Qatar came to an end, and the two parties decided to split ways.

However, manager Unai Emery has made it clear that the Brazilian is not in his plans.

Coutinho has two years left on his contract, but he will now go for free.

The 32-year-old is expected to return to his home country with Vasco da Gama.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Philippe Coutinho and Aston Villa have agreed to terminate his contract following his loan spell in Qatar.”

“Coutinho set to be available as free agent with Vasco da Gama working on his return — as @brunoandrd reports.”
