Commissioner of police for Lagos State, has cautioned protesters against breaking the law during the October 1 countrywide protest

Olarenwaju Ishola, the commissioner of police for Lagos State, has cautioned protesters against breaking the law during the October 1 countrywide protest. He gave people of Lagos assurances about the police’s presence and their protection, as well as their promise to stop chaos or destruction. Ishola declared that the command would uphold its directive that no person or organisation be permitted to cause unrest or damage property in the state.

The planned protest on October 1st would only be held at Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota, Lagos State. The court injunction limiting the worldwide rallies against economic hardship to this place will be enforced by the police. Citizens have the right to protest or voice their disapproval of the government, but they must do it in a civilised manner, according to Dapo Amao, the director of the Department of State Service in Lagos State. He asked people to be patient with the government as it attempts to make amends, and assured them that the NSCDC will work with other law enforcement organisations to protect people and property.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, State Commandant Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, encouraged those considering violent protests to reconsider since a poorly executed demonstration could result in the destruction of property and life. He underlined that peaceful protests that respect other people’s rights are necessary if protesting is to occur. Along with working with other security organisations, the NSCDC safeguards inhabitants’ property and lives. Keshinro urged all parties involved to share the good news and to oppose any acts of lawlessness in the region.
