Bruno Fernandes explains why he let Rashford take a penalty against Everton

The midfielder for Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes, gave an explanation for why he let teammate Marcus Rashford to get a penalty kick during the Red Devils’ 2-0 victory over Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.

Rashford felt confident in his ability to convert his penalty kick against the Toffees, according to Fernandes, so he gave it to the England international.

Remember that Erik ten Hag’s team won all three points against Everton thanks to two goals from penalty kicks by Fernandes and Rashford?

Fernandes gave the following response when TNT Sport (via Metro) questioned him about his choice to allow Rashford to take the second penalty:

“We both kick the penalties. I asked Marcus if he wanted to take and he said he was confident.

“He is one of the penalty takers that the manager chooses. I felt I had my one; Rashy could get his goal from the penalty.”
