Uli Hoeness, the honorary president of Bayern Munich, has stated that his team, along with Real Madrid and Liverpool, are “working” on an agreement to name Xabi Alonso as their next manager.
“Alonso’s proven that he can be a coach for the big time,” Hoeness told German news outlet Ran Sport.
“Clubs like Liverpool, Real Madrid, Leverkusen and FC Bayern are working on it.”
According to Sky in Germany, Alonso is Bayern’s top choice, and they are rumored to have gotten a good signal from him during the first round of negotiations.
The summer cost of the Spaniard to Bayern would range from £12.8 million to £21.3 million (€15 million to €25 million), since his contract has a set leave clause that would not activate until the summer of 2025.
