Awoniyi provides a helping hand as Nottingham Forest loses to Aston Villa

A sad 4-2 loss against Aston Villa befell Nottingham Forest, with Taiwo Awoniyi contributing an assist.

After passing a late fitness test, Awoniyi was added to Forest’s starting lineup.

Ollie Watkins and Douglas Luiz (brace) gave Aston Villa a quick 3-0 lead.

Moussa Niakhate, a Senegalese international who was set up by Awoniyi, cut the deficit far into first-half stoppage time.

After the break, Awoniyi was replaced, and in 15 league games this season, he has already scored six goals and contributed three assists for the Tricky Trees.

After the interval, Morgan Gibbs-White further cut Forest’s deficit in half.

However, Leon Bailey gave the home team their three-goal advantage back just after the hour had passed.
