Charlie Austin has committed to AFC Totton, a non-league team.
On Saturday, he will play his first game against Forest Green Rovers.
Once he left Swindon Town at the end of the previous season, the former striker for Southampton and QPR has been without a club.
Over the course of a 14-year career, Austin, 35, has played over 500 times and scored 200 goals.
