Atletico Madrid purchases forward Julian Alvarez from Manchester City for £82 million

A deal of up to £82 million (€95 million) has been agreed upon by Man City and Atletico Madrid for Julian Alvarez.
It will be a record sale for City and amounts to a massive profit over the £14 million the Premier League champions spent River Plate for the Argentina forward in January 2022. Atletico will pay £64 million upfront (€75 million), with the remaining amount coming in add-ons.

Since moving to the Etihad Stadium two and a half years ago, Alvarez has made 103 appearances for City and scored 36 goals.

In 2023, the Argentine international won the FA Cup, Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup, and two Premier League crowns.

He also won the Copa America earlier this year and the 2022 World Cup with Argentina while he was a player at City.
