At the conclusion of business on Friday, the Naira rose marginally versus the US dollar and other currencies in the foreign currency market.
According to FMDQ data, the Naira gained ground on Wednesday, trading at N1,469.97 per US dollar, up from N1,479.47 on Friday.
This is a 0.6 percent or N9.5 increase over Tuesday’s closing price of 1,433.89.
However, N1,469.97 versus the dollar is N50 lower than the achievement accomplished on Monday, when the trading week began at N1419.86.
On the parallel market, the naira fell to N1,490 per dollar on Friday, down from N1,440 on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, informed the Senate Joint Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Financial Institutions in Abuja on Friday that exchange rates will remain stable.
