However, despite controlling the most of the game, the Gunners were unable to reach the back of the net.
But there was drama late on, when Leon Bailey scored the visitors’ first goal at the back post.
Ollie Watkins, Villa’s star striker, then completed a counterattack to deny Arsenal the opportunity to win.
The outcome ensures that Manchester City, with 73 points—two more than both Arsenal and Liverpool—remains at the top.
