As instructed by Tinubu, Customs returns trucks containing food items that were taken away from the owners

Following Bola Tiinubu’s order, the Nigeria Customs Service’s Sokoto/Zamfara Area Command has restored fifteen trucks full of grain that were confiscated to their legitimate owners.

The command’s public relations officer, Abdullahi Abubakar, said in a statement on Tuesday night, March 12, which the food items that had been confiscated will be given back.

Remember that to aid boost the availability of food, President Tinubu ordered Customs to return any food products that were confiscated at the border to their owners, with the requirement that the goods be sold in Nigerian marketplaces.

According to Adewale Adeniyi, Controller-General of Customs, Tinubu chose to exercise his power “because of his profound sense of generosity towards Nigeria, rather than following legal procedures.”
