Portable, a controversial street-pop star, has requested forgiveness after slapping a pastor who came to preach at his bar, following a recent incident where he was caught on camera slapping a pastor.
After the attack, preachers and internet users threatened to take legal action against Portable for attacking a man of God.
But in a video, he posted around midnight on Monday, the musician addressed the uproar and explained his behavior by citing prior experiences.
Portable pleaded for forgiveness after attacking a preacher, believing he was causing him spiritual harm. He acknowledged that community issues differ from street issues and wished God for forgiveness. He acknowledged being an orphan and a child of God, but also acknowledged the harm done to his sister through similar tactics.
Portable said, “My fans, community issues are different from that of the street. May God forgive me. I didn’t know he was a genuine man of God. If I knew I wouldn’t have slapped him.
“I’m also a child of God. I’m human, I’m not perfect. I am an orphan. They have harmed my sister through this same strategy.”
