Ademola Lookman’s teammates were commended by Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini for their pivotal part in his 2024 Ballon d’Or nomination.
After his outstanding performance in the UEFA Europa League final, Lookman, who has earned Atalanta’s Player of the Season title for the past two seasons, was nominated for the honor. Gasperini said he knew he would have had the same outcome if he had been playing for a different team, and he applauded Lookman’s teammates’ support.
Lookman’s outstanding finish in the final ranking is a result of his diligence and his teammates’ encouragement.
Gasperini told Gazetta dello Sport, “He knows he wouldn’t be here without De Roon, Ederson, Djimsiti, and the entire squad supporting him.”
“It’s not guaranteed he would have achieved the same result if he were playing for a different team.”
